WHAT IS SPIRITUAL HEALING

Spiritual Healing is a complementary therapy and is legal in Great Britain. It is the Healing of Mind, Body, and Soul by means of prayer and meditation and the laying on of hands. This healing can be effected by contact with the patient or by means of Absent or Distant healing. The laying on of hands healing has history as old as Man and over time has had different names and is practised worldwide. The Healer attunes their self as a channel for higher energy, which activates the self-healing power of the patient at all relevant levels of their being.

Spiritual Healing is non-denominational and has been carried out by members of all Religions throughout the Ages and by Humanitarian societies.

All Spiritual Healer's endeavour to provide relief from pain and suffering whether of the mind, body or the soul, to promote the patients well being and encourage self healing capability. Approved Spiritual Healers in the UK work to a code of ethical conduct that has been accepted by doctors and vets and are insured for their practise with the general public. In summary this code provides for-:

Relationship with the Patient, working with other Healthcare Professionals, Guidelines for working in hospitals, Healing and the Law, Treatment of Animals, Healing practice guidelines, and disciplinary procedures.

Healers never claim to cure, will not medically diagnose and work with whatever kind of medical care a doctor or vet has prescribed. Records are confidential between healer and patient. An approved healer is registered with a AHA Association and will provide proof on request of membership and insurance cover. Healing may be of one individual by another, of a group by one person, or of a group by a group, or of one person by a group; or it may be self-induced.

Whilst no guarantee of part or whole of a cure can be given, Spiritual Healing can be beneficial to sufferers of any form of disease or illness. This form of healing is often used to supplement other forms of treatment the patient may be receiving from a General Practitioner. It can help to eliminate pain, to reduce stress and anxiety. Spiritual Healing is also given to animals of all kinds and in general they respond well; healers will often say they are better patients than human beings!

There are no known side effects; however there is very often a feeling of well being experienced during and after treatment and it is well known that many people experience warmth from the hands of the Healer, yet on occasions a healer's hands can radiate a cold but not unpleasant effect. Healing benefits all, providing balancing energies that can stimulate and calm with lasting effect. There are records of some dramatic healings involving complete recovery and/or considerable improvement in patient's conditions. It should be noted, on occasions the symptoms of a patient's condition may be pronounced in the aftermath of healing for a short time due to the effect of healing 'bringing to the surface' the tensions of the complaint.

WHO PRACTISES SPIRITUAL HEALING ?

Any individual so inclined may practice Spiritual Healing, and AHA is established to ensure the public can be satisfied its Healer members are of good character and sufficiently developed and trained to practice effectively and professionally with the general public and animals. All Healers working to AHA standards complete 2 years of training and proving practice before attaining full healer status. Healers in training, work with full healers until they are assessed as qualified. AHA is a member of the Confederation of Healing Organisations that has constituent members throughout the United Kingdom.

Healers treat patients in their own homes, at Churches, dedicated Healing Centres, Hospitals, Hospices, Care Homes, Therapy Centres, animal sanctuary's, and in the patient's own homes.

Recent legislation now permits a Doctor to recommend a Healer to their patient provided that the doctor retains overall responsibility for patient medical care. There are now both Government financed and private Healing Centres in this country where Spiritual Healers and other complementary therapists work with patients advised by doctors.
